Every morning, I use Collyrium for Fresh Eyes, (a human eye wash I buy at Wal*Mart, and my vet approved as safe) one-two drops in each eye. Then, with 100% cotton pad, I wipe gently under the eye. (It's important to use 100% cotton, because other fibers can irritate the eyes further.) If you use the wash every morning, there won't be any gunk building up. If there is, then, it's likely that your little one has allergies.
