it sounds like the breeders of this puppy bought the parents with LIMITED AKC registration which means they can be registered AKC but no offspring can be registered. Reputable breeders do this because they are selling PETS and do not intend for the buyers to breed them. So honestly it sounds like these people are going against their breeders wishes and contract and bred their dogs anyway and now can't register the puppies AKC because they have limited registration. So I personally would never buy from someone that would do something like this...it's dishonest and unethical in my opinion.
