I'm sorry but I have to disagree I know there are here that feed raw, either prey or barf, and these people feeding their dogs mainly protein. The argument here is that dogs are carnivores, and what do dogs eat but meat? And meat is protein is it not? Unless you believe dogs are not carnivores, in which case I cannot say anything else.

My Yorkie is fed Orijen. I free feed her nowadays. She has not gained any unnecessary weight. If the fat content is too high, she would have gained excessive weight a long time ago. My shihtzu is the same way.

If there is such a thing as too much protein, I really would like to see an independent, un-biased scientific research explaining it. Link please?
