| Hello All!
I'm new to the site, and I just got my little yorkie a week ago. He is 8 weeks old, and his name is Baylee. Baylee is a funny little guy. Our first week, he cried a lot at night while in his crate, but now he has stopped doing it as much and just goes to sleep. I feel really bad, because I have to leave him during the day in the crate. However, I put his favorite toy in it, as well as a puppy pad, on which he knows how to use. The problem is, he does not use the pad when he is not in the crate. For 3 days straight, he would tinkle on it faithfully. Now, he grabs the pad with his mouth and carries it around the house. He has started to go potty in the bathroom, because that is where I flush his accidents. I really don't want to take him out to walk yet because he cannot have his second set of vaccination shots until he is 9 weeks old and I don't want him to get a virus. I know...we have issues! What do you suggest on potty training? As soon as I leave home, I feed him, and he goes to potty like 20 minutes later...where I can't see him...Or sometimes he'll use the puppy pad, if he hasn't dragged it around the house...Please...I welcome your suggestions...Oh...the breeder was feeding him and his brother and sister Iams for puppies...is that a good food for him? |
