I have had many different breeds of dogs and have used rawhide quite often with all of them only 1 ever got the runs. I think that it depends on the dogs digestive system and how sensitive they are. My Sprocket loves its the only time he sits on my lap nicely without molling my face. I give him some everynight for about 45 min so I can brush him.
