Most dogs don't like to poop in their crates, but, believe me, some do, even when the crates are just the right size. I've trained both ways, but, am strictly pee pad now. What you need to do is pick the poop up out of the crate and put it outside where you want him to poop. Always make sure you have a treat on hand when he does go out to use the potty, and give him lots of praise. He's still young and will get the hang of it. My sons yorkie is a little over a year now and has a pee pad, they have an xpen set up for him and, when he has to go poop, he wants put in his xpen to go. They have to shut the door on it and leave the room before he'll poop. If he starts to poop, and he sees them walking back to his xpen, he will quit pooping. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen. This pup will cry if you get on to him and go sit in a corner, he does not like to be yelled at. Good luck on the training, it just takes time, consistency and patience. |
