I love it. The problem with lots of winter gear is it takes a while to get on. When I'm in a hurry, I'm less likely to put their coats on if I know I've gotta stuff their legs in leg holes and button or zip them up. They don't particularly like me fussing with them that long either.
A friend made me a similar design to yours, and I love it. Wish mine had fleece, though, and maybe a more water/wind resistant material on the outside.
