I think I would try a different vet, did they check him for any kind of mange or something. What kind of food do you have him on. They can have allergies to corn, wheat and soy. Chester has allergies as well not food so I use salmon oil on wet food with his dry. I also rinse him off in the tub sometimes as well. I use laundry soap with no dyes or perfumes same with dryer sheets. Apple cider vinegar mixed with some water has helped. You need to make sure its not mange or some kind of infection before you try anything on it.
