For some reason, I picture you taking perverse delight in asking your MIL to follow Jack around to watch him poo! When Roxy had her hip surgery she didn't poo to the point where she became constipated. When I called our vet she said that often times the pain meds will cause constipation. She had us get Laxatone (in the cat section at Petco for furballs - but don't tell Roxy that!) and that did the trick without giving her really loose stools. I'm sure you are already up on that and on how Jack's body reacts to pain meds since he has already been there, done that - just spilled out what popped into my head when I read that!
Have you put baby onesies on him? I did that when Roxy had surgery, and she never got into her owie area. (My son that he was pretty clever when he snapped it up - not quite what I had in mind!)
Thanks for the updates. At the rate Jack is progressing, it sounds like I won't be feeling so sorry for you that I feel compelled not to be ornery for much longer! (Seriously - do you have any idea how hard it was to pass up the opportunity to mention that he obviously gets beauty AND brains from his mom?!!!) |
