I asked the OP to reconsider his thoughts on re-homing should he ever get another pet. This is the part that bothered me:

Many of our members have re-homed pets, and the stories have been quite successful. I'm not saying it is easy, but I believe this shows true love for the pet. I never called the OP any names, like you did me, I just asked that he reconsider his thoughts. I think the way you addressed me was uncalled for.
