Thanks, everybody, for the kind thoughts. Rhonda, thanks so much for your story. I need to grill the surgeon on the procedure today. He's recognized as the best we have, a board-certified surgeon, but I'm unclear on what it entails. My vet told me the procedure involved the mesh, but a vet from pet emergency didn't mention it. She said the organs are sutured in place.

But I'm glad you reminded me to bring it. Up. I had about 3 hours sleep, so I'm a little foggy. My appointment with the surgeon is at 10:15 my time, which is 1 hour, 45 away or so. Not sure what time the procedure will be scheduled.
