The surgeon examined him tonight and agreed it's a procedure that should be done right away. I'm going to get a call in the wee hours of the morning, and I'll have to take him from pet emergency to the office where the surgery will be done.

They're going to go in tomorrow and use suture to hold the organs in place. The procedure is occasionally done in two stages. If it doesn't hold just right, they'll have to go in again in a couple weeks.

Thanks for the continued thoughts, everybody. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything. I have no idea what time the surgery will take place, but likely before noon my time. I'm 4 hours earlier than EDT.
