Sad Tummy obstruction :(

Riley has been vomiting and suffering from diarrhea/loose stools for a week now. It started last Thurs when I was out of town for the week for work. She and I were staying with friends. Until Thurs, Riley had been kenneled during the day, but then my friend decided to let her run the house while I was gone. I had stressed to her the importance of supervision at all times. Moot point, unfortunately. Riley got into her dogs food, at the very least. (Purina One... EWWWWWWWW). Anyway, Riley vomited 3x that night and started with the diarrhea. She cleared up within a couple of days. Mon/Tues she acted like she was going to throw up but nothing would come. She tends to do this when she's going to poop out some carpet fiber (from her obsessive licking), but that never happened. Loose stool/diarrhea again yesterday. Then we get to last night...

She woke us up to go out. Then proceeded to come back in and make a mess in the bed. She then got sick from both ends in her kennel. From that point on, I was up with her while she vomited 4x in 2 hours. Called the vet and got her in right away. One week of this is too long!!

After X-Rays, he determined she has an obstruction in her tummy and sent off the films to a board certified radiologist to determine what our next step is. Slight chance it is unmoved food (unlikely, though, since she hasn't eaten since last night 5:00). Could be carpet fiber buildup. Could be something from my friend's house. We should know later today or by tomorrow morning. He also did bloodwork, and we're going to have a parasite screening just in case, as well. She has a lot of gas in her tummy and intestines and some irritation (colitis) when can often result from eating food other than her own, stress, etc. We've been through many bouts of that with Penny.

She was sent home with meds and some canned W/D to help bulk up her stool. There is the hope that the W/D will move whatever is in her tummy and that would be the end of it.

She's a miserable little mess! Please say a prayer for a simple solution and quick recovery for my little girl.
