So sorry to hear about your loss. But I'm so glad Peaches and her other babies survived.
Bizzy just had a c-section, and she was out of it for about 24 hours due to the anesthetic. We really had to work to get the puppies nursing, and once the anesthetic wore off, she accepted them.
The babies are very small, so weigh them several times a day to make sure they are not losing weight. Give Peaches whelping pudding to help get her energy up and bring in her milk. Make sure she is drinking water, add Karo syrup to keep her stomach settled and give her energy.
We considered the options and elected to give Bizzy some pain medication the first 24 hours. This did have an effect on the puppies, but kept her comfortable and resting. I felt she was better able to take care of the puppies afterwards because she had a little respite from the pain of the surgery.
We wish you the best. Oh and you might check out WoogieMan's thread about Bonnie's puppies. He is supplementing now too and seems to have it figured out.
