When I was a little girl, I met a dog who was spanked a lot. It was a yellow lab. All it ever did was hide and pee all over itself, which got it into more trouble. Finally, the dog turned on the guy and bit him. The guy took him and got him put to sleep thinking it was just all the dogs fault.
Two years ago, I fostered a black lab that had been hit. It took 3 months just to get it to let me pet her. A rescue had room and took her in. I pray that they could help her more.
Please, please, please, dont let her near your dog again. Dogs can go into a 'shell' when they're abused or even occasionally 'spanked' and its nearly impossible to get them out of it. It will be afraid of ALL people, including you. It's heartbreaking.
