I definitely agree with everyone that size won't be a problem, although my Mika is a bigger yorkie(8lbs) when I first brought her home she was only 2lb and she played "rough" with our 120 lb OESD! Also I firmly believe that all dogs should have a same species playmate, you can't be there 24/7 and dogs are pack animals and need canine companionship. Maybe your DTR would be willing to pay monthly pet insurance premiums and send over little gift parcels from time to time? I can't wait to see pics of your 2 girls snuggling up together-too cute! Also I have to say how weird it is that I have always thought if I get another girl yorkie I want to call her Maya Its fate- Mika and Maya just go together

Wow...what coincidences!!!!!!!! our Mika just weighed in at 8 pouds something also, but she is sooooooooooo pretty. I think they will look totally different. The one thing I'm prepared for is when we go out, people asking if Maya is Mika's daughter, and me exlpaining...no they are Aunt and Neice
Oh but as for a little visit, that's OUT. I know the daughter and son-in=law to be will want to spend every last minute with her they can until they leave.
