I have Verizon with my Blackberry. Apparently, Blackberry and Verizon have a contract that requires all Verizon Blackberry users to get the data plan. It makes since though; Why would you have a Blackberry if you aren't going to use the internet/e-mail? It's not very expensive though...I believe its $20 on top of your regular monthly bill.
