Thanks for sending the pics of your babies. Here is an update on my little Daisy.
Unfortunately, my vet did detect an issue with her eyes today. To give you some background, she had a bad upper respiratory condition when we got her @ 10 weeks of age. It took about 4 weeks to get rid of all the nasal/ cough/ wheezing. \
Shortly after her recovery is when I started to notice cloudiness in her eyes. After an eye stain and examination from my vet today, he determined that both eyes had internal inflammation. She has also been experiencing what I would describe as a small nervous tic. She shudders her little head back and forth for about a second and then stops. This has become more frequent over the past few days. The vet asked me if she has been throwing up or having diahrrea - she has had diahrrea the last two days but I thought it was probably due to her trying to eat absolutely everything she can get a hold of when she goes outside for a walk. With all of these symptoms - starting with the cough, now the eyes, diahrrea, and the muscular twitch / tic, my vet is afraid she may have contracted distemper. Evidently Distemper usually starts with the coughing/ sneezing/ nasal discharge and then can progress to GI symptoms, ocular problems, and can cause neurological damage which can present as a tic and can progress to severe seizures. My vet is not sure but we will treat the eyes with drops over the next few days. I take her back in on Friday. I am just praying that this is a series of coincidences and that she does not have distemper. I didn't really know much about distemper -- it is a very scary disease and there is no cure. Please keep my little Daisy in your prayers.
