It has not affected me at all. My dear awesome groomer and breeder (same guy) is gay. I asked him if he wants to marry his partner and he said no. Its not about equality, its a unique decision by individuals.
I don't like when something is passed without the people having a chance to discuss and vote on it. The problem alot of us is having is we didn't get a voice in the choice, and if it is decided that this law will remain intact, and that is what we the people have decided, then that is fine with me.
