Gracie's hair mats easily too. And try as she may, it was just all too much for her when I had to work out the mats each night. So for her happiness, and mine! I cut her body this summer. It also helped to keep her cool when we took our daily walks.

Now, we've always groomed our own dogs, and Annie and Boo are good about standing and letting us do what needs to be done. Gracie, being only 4 months old at the time, couldn't stand still at all. She kept trying to turn around to see what the clippers where, what I was doing, basically just what was going on. So her first cut, although she did great at allowing it, turned out...well...a little choppy. She looked like one of those bobble head dolls. I don't think it helped that she weighed so little.

We continue to work with the clippers so that she'll get use to them, and I hope come next summer, if we have to clip her again, she'll stand a little better and won't look like I wore a blindfold and took a dull knife to her hair.

1) Gracie's Bobble-Head Doll look...it'll be all the rage soon, just watch and see!
