Default Me too......

I would like an answer to this question, as well. Tinkerbell will be 5 months on the 18th. Her hair is about 2.5" - 3" long. It is kind of thick and fluffy on her back and sides and thin on her chest, head and legs. Her belly is bare. I have no idea if her coat is silky, cottony or "soft". Her saddle is still completely black, but her head has changed to silver.

Both of her parents are registered as "black and tan" and supposedly have silky coats. But, I read somewhere on here that Yorkies with black coats are usually cottony and mat easily. ????

It seems like she gets a lot of mats close to the skin and I am wondering if that means that her coat is transitioning from puppy hair to her adult coat. Is this what is happening with your baby? Or, are you wanting to cut it for a different reason? How long is your puppy's hair right now?

I was thinking of cutting her hair to make the transition easier. I am just afraid that it will grow in curly or something. I have heard of that happening. I'm not sure if that's really possible or not.
