A similar crisis happened after the Disney 101 Dalmations movies. So here we go again.
Very true! Same thing happened to Bichons when J.R. won at Westminster a few years ago, the first Bichon ever to win. People rushed out to buy a cute little puppy that grew up to be a real dog that needed lots of care and many of them wound up in rescues and shelters. The reprecussions were felt for years. So sad.
