Definitely pick your baby up from this vet and if you feel a 2nd opinion is necessary, get it. It sounds like to me, she may have just been milking this visit for all she could get. I may be way off base, but it does sound fishy to me.
Why would she not want you to get a 2nd opinion if her dx was factual? Were I in her place, I would welcome some one else verifying my dx.
You said she had only loose stools in the beginning, right? Any other symptoms?
