While I agree that it is cruel ( And I do hate them) it is part and parcels of learning theroy and there sadly studies that show if used correctly that one very strong correctly timed zap can end bad behaviour really really bad aggression. The likely hood that anyone can in regular society can do it right is nil to non ( even those with great timing are still not good enough) but we have it accept that it is for sale and it is legal to use... and I can not believe I am saying this but if Ceser can use them and does then we can not ask others not to until we start with the guys that sell them and the ones that use them on TV.
we can do as you just did and go yuck cruel and rightly so but yuck cruel does not teach why cruel.
Not it not just the zap, tha over in a second. it the fact that a zap on low will leads to a zap higher and higher and habituates the dog to pain. it is the fact thay can go into shut down. it is the fact they can become more aggressive. It teaches fear of humans. it can teach fear of things around them. It is the fact taht humans can not take emotions for the most part out of training and we then use teh zap as a weapon.
It can indeed burn.
Yes zap collars are cruel but why is it important to teach.
We allow other ways to train as well that are cruel and we allow it as it alwys been done that way.
