I was a 21 y/o college student who was broke and wanted a puppy. I found one for $350 in the DFW paper but paid $300 b/c of fleas. I couldn't have afforded to pay any more than that at the time b/c if I did then I wouldn't have been able to get the rest of his shots, supplies, ect.
I'm getting married in Oct so we're working full time to save up money to pay for the expenses. After we get settled down we are thinking of getting another yorkie (maybe a girl this time...), but know we wouldn't be able to afford anything over $1000. It's going to be hard but I'll have to grow some patience until the time comes!!
