I know a long time ago we had fleas in our house bad and I was told to buy Borax ( by the laundry detergent in stores) and mix half Borax and half salt. Sprinkle in carpet with a broom and let sit overnight then vacumm. We didn't have a problem with fleas anymore. I looked at that fleabuster website and it sounds like it reacts the same way. I wouldn't put that on a dog, but it will treat your house and it's not harmful to the animals.
