Eclampsia is caused by the failure of the parathyroid to release calcium that is stored in the bones. It usually occurs during lactation when the call for calcium is high. It will begin with a slight weakness, move to tremors, and end in collapse when muscles start shutting down. It can result in death as the heart ( and all muscles) requires calcium to contract and will stop beating. Knowing the early signs of eclampsia is vitally important as once it starts the dog will go down very quickly. Internveinious calcium treatment is required to save the dog in most cases. Once the bitch has had eclampsia there is a much higher chance of reoccurance.

I googled eclampsia and just read as much as I could...

If anybody else has experience with this please post your advice as well...
