Good idea on the leash but make sure it a fob one not a long 6 footer or even 4 as it can get tangled around tiny legs and snap them in seconds.

What about a body harness on the lab so that you can grab and remove rather then a leash.. also give the terrier a place to hold on to and pull that puppy around with.

What gets me is the yorkie does not say no back off brute to the lab and grr or snap at it to go away the way aa dog should teach another dog no you are being to rough.
