I know that with a one time emergency there isn't a lot that you can do, but what about at least getting established with a doggy day care in your area in case you need to be gone for a long period of time again. Right now, Harley is only home about 6 hours by himself between the time that I go to work and my husband gets home, but my husband is going to be out of town next month and sometimes I am gone more than 12 hours at a time. I have already gotten him set up with day care in my area. I can take him to my office if I have to (like today he went to the groomer) but it is easier on the both of us if he doesn't go to work with mommy!
