Can anyone provide any helpful information?
My dog is 7 months old and he has a liver issue also I am awaiting a BAT that was drawn today. He had one drawn in June that was 13.4 pre, and 95.3 post. But he had a severe intestinal infection at the time so after healing and he showed no more signs, we had dismissed the first results and we were awaiting till he was 6-7 months old and had not received any vaccines to influence the results. Well he started walking in circles and holding his head down and it was horrible. His ammonia level was 414 normal is 0-99. They put him on lactulose and Amoxicillin and now possibley neomyacin. I have denosyl and I was thinking of getting milk thistle. We discovered today he has juvenile diabetes, his fasting blood test today was 446. Even if the surgery could be done for an external shunt, the diabetes would cause him to have a horrid time of it trying to regulate his sugars.
