If you are picking her up later that afternoon...generally she will probably be sleepy and nap a good part of the evening. Your vet will advise light feeding and water to insure she doesn't get sick from the anethestic. They will probably send you home with a cone...those make dogs miserable. I'd suggest using a onsie. Be sure to get some pain meds for that evening and you may wish to give her one the day after too. By day two....all of mine have acted like nothing occurred the day before.

You can have her groomed before her spay. After her surgery you'll need to wait 10 days before getting the area wet.
