I feel for all of those members in Texas. I live in Southern Ohio and we got hurricane force winds on Sunday (in my area we had reports of 84 mph were recorded, apparently that's considered category 1 force hurricane winds). Well that little wind storm, knocked power out for over 90% of the tri-state area.
We've had power on and off since that day. Most businesses and grocery stores are still closed and all of the local gas stations have run out of gas. Our electric company just sent a lot of crews down to the Texas area so they said we may not have power on in all areas for 10 days.
I went to work this morning, we have power but no network access so they sent me home.
This has only been 2 days and people around here are acting as if it's the end of the world. I've been reminding people that we should count our blessings that we are having nice cool weather and while we may have no power at least we have our homes and haven't experienced the devastation as those affected by Hurricane Ike in Texas and Louisiana.
So again my thoughts and prayers go out to all that have been affected!
