He drinks and eats in the morning and does his business outside before we crate him. When we let him out he is with us the remainder of the evening until bed at which time he goes into his crate without food and water. He is a very happy dog and he loves his crate. I guess not everyone can be fortunate to be home all day with their animals.
Who said ANYTHING about not getting a dog if you work?! It was just stated that a puppy always needs water, do you not worry about risking his/her health? I went to school FINE when Lilly was a baby. She stayed in the kitchen with a gate up, all cords picked up, food, water, toys, bed - everything she could possibly need/want. I know I wouldn't deprive her of her water or food, but that's just me I guess .
