I am so sorry for your loss. What a tra gedy. I lost my Gracie Leigh August 1, 2008 to an attack by another dog. It was like being in a nightmare. I tried so hard to get her away from him. I actually got her away 3 times and laid over her so that he couldn't get to her, but he did and she died. At least she went with my hands holding her. I kept screaming for help, and just got my voice back. People came, but they were afraid to go near the other dog.

I have little Annie Leigh now, along with Max, my 2 1/2 year old Yorkie. I got her right away because that made me feel better. I love her with all of my heart and nurturing a puppy is a joyful thing, but not an hour goes by without me thinking about my Gracie Leigh.

I just let myself feel what I feel. I think the only way to grieve is to allow yourself your feelings, no matter how painful. I will keep you in my prayers as well as all of you who posted about your losses.

It has been helpful for me to lean on my family. My grandchildren saw the whole thing, and my daughter and son-in-law are heartbroken also. We buried
Gracie on their land with a small bible, a cross, and rosary beads. I just ordered a memorial bench which we will place over her grave. We had a funeral for her together and my grandchildren pray or say hello to her whenever they think of it. We talk about our grief and how cute she was and how sweet and how sad we are freely. I could not have done it without them.

My prayers to you.
