Redlegs are rather rare and not conformationally correct in that they usually look more llike the original yorkies like Huddenfield's Ben. I bred my redleg for the pigment and the strength that she would bring to my line. As a result Denali doesn't have quite as strong of a backline as I want in my line but she will be bred to a male that is from a long line of dead level backlines. She will bring strength of pigment and rock hard cartlidge to both my line and the line of the male that has been selected for her. All of the breeding has been done with a plan to maximize strengths and decrease weakness to improve the breed. Once I got what I needed out of Roxie she was retired. There's no reason for me to put her at risk when I have what I needed out of her.
I love the deep rich gold with the red tone as well but I don't breed for it because it isn't correct conformationally. As you can see from the pic it's a beautiful color though.
