Don't beat yourself up over this...it's not your fault. Chewy, bless his heart just wanted to play...Sugar didn't. I have had cats and dogs live together indoors, usually the dog learns very quickly that the cat is boss and means business. I pray his little eye will be just fine...it may very well be scarred, but hopefully he will retain most of his vision. The vets will watch for and treat any infection that may occur. I'll say a prayer that he will heal from this injury and that he has learned a tough lesson. Hugs to you, I know you feel bad and you're missing Chewy...but they must watch him and treat him...leaving him there under medical care was the right thing to do.
