I would hesitate to lay the lower price off on the economy. I'm sure it has something to do with it but more in the sense that more people are breeding to try to make money rather than good dogs being priced lower. The average price has gone down but the average quality has preceded and outpaced it. Lot's of threads nowadays where finding a legitimate breeder is getting harder, but no shortage of newbie's asking breeding questions.
