I was at Virginia Tech Vet School for over 4 hours today with Sugar, and the news isn't good. She has a mass behind her right eye, and we take her back on Wed. for pre-op work, and xrays of her major organs to make sure nothing has spread there, and then they will operate on her Thursday, and take her eye out.
After the tests today they determined she is blind in that eye, and with removing it because of the tumor, there will be less chance of it spreading. They will then put in an artificial eye, and sew her eyelids together. The kids are really upset, and we've tried to get them to understand for the health of Sugar, this has to be done. I am so mentally exhausted after today, I just don't know which way to turn.
