And secondly the designer dogs isn't the only craze out there. Small dogs in general are very popular right now. Mainly because as has been said before celebs are carrying them all over. So the price of pure bred dogs are being jacked up just as well.
I personally wouldn't be able to afford to pay what some people pay for their pure bred dogs that are pets not show dogs but does that mean I'm better or smarter than them no. There are things I choose to spend my money on that other people don't but you know just like we have the freedom of speech we also have the right to spend our money how we like. I'm in no way mad or trying to offend just to let you know. |
Like you I am personally unable to pay the high price for Yorkies, especially in the Phoenix area. About 15-20 years ago, had the good fortune to be the owner of both a male and female yorkie, both quite small in size. Wanting one again for all these years, a mix seemed to be the way to go as I am on a fixed income. Delighted to find a "Chorkie" girl! Mother purebred yorkie and father 3/4 yorkie and 1/4 chihuahua. Looks and acts just like my long ago yorkie pair. Quite the personality!!! She is 7 months old and newly spayed and her growth is leveling off at about 9 pounds. Could not ask for a better companion!!!
