What you are dealing with is a dog that is not happy or secure enough to be left alone.
You need to work sepration anxiety protocal and not use bitter apple or anything as it will stop that behaviour maybe but anxiety will pop up else where like licking holes in themselves barking or peeing around the house.

You need to track down a animal behaviourist packing a PHD or a vet behaviourist and not just your every day vet is one of those.

If you are close to a vet hospital call them and find someone.

This will not get better without work and work.
You dealing with a dog that is having panic attacks and he willing to do anything to get to you. You punishing him or scolging him makes it worse as now the person he needs to be with is scary too so be very gentle.
