Being akc registered means the sire and dam were akc registered...it means nothing regarding the standard. Ramsey is akc and also weighs 12 pounds...far out of standard. You can be assured of your dog's pedigree though...also akc makes random inspections, requires dna of the dogs and record keeping.
I would still avoid a USDA breeder...akc or not.
