Thanks, Stormchaser! Glad things are finally getting better for Roxee! We were so upset when Toto had her surgery [spaying/teeth removal] I held her for the next two days, only letting Patrick hold her long enough for me to go to the bathroom!! Didn't even leave her long enough to shower! She "bounced" right back and a few days later was ripping around the house like nothing had happened! I think it was really harder on us than it was on her.
We have spoiled her and she is a very picky eater! We got a scolding from Dr. Lucy and now have her on "Natural Balance" [comes in a roll like hamburger] ... I give her about 1-2 tablespoons chopped in tiny pieces twice a day. I microwave it for about 15-20 seconds wrapped in Saran Wrap and add a teaspoon of sour cream, parm or finely shredded yellow w/jack cheese! She loves it! I also keep her a little dish of Royal Canin Yorkshire 28 available in case she wants anything more. She usually leaves the Royal Canin for a little snack off & on ... or just tosses it up in the air & plays with it for awhile, then eats it!! I give her about 2-3cc of the veterinary formula Nutri-Cal once a day so I can be sure she is getting plenty of nutrients and of course fresh water available at all times. I only give her bottled water [we have a problem with "local" water upsetting our systems so we just make it a practice ... new location ... same bottled water! ] Along with her dog food ... I occasionally give her finely chopped apple, pear or other fruit ... she also loves Gerber Gratuates green beans and carrots!
If Roxee's problem is diet ... I would think that after you try a few different foods you will hit on one that agrees with her and she will thrive!! I would suggest that you try "new things" just one at the time ... if it upsets her system you will readily know that it was the "new thing"! Good luck!
