Parvo can be treated if caught in the early stages....They need a heavy duty antibiotic and IV fluids....if not IV then SubQ. They also need to be off food for a bit. It is the intestinal infection that kills not parvo itself.
You need to make sure the pups are isolated. But parvo gets into the ground and is carried in on your shoes and everyones paws. I have heard that pups or dogs are not protectd from parvo until 10 days after shots.... |
