 We are so fortunate...
Somehow we were blessed with purchasing a dog a few years into his life - who was potty trained! When we bought him the owner wasn't willing to divulge many details as to his training - but aside from the initial "Hey - this is a new place, let me pee to let them know I live here" marking we haven't had any troubles!
Well, Chewie is crated during the day (while we are at work), and then we go for lots of walks around the block... One before work, One after work, Sometimes One after dinner, and One before bed... While he doesn't "go on command" he HAS picked up on the fact that his morning walk is BRISK and that he needs to go quickly! (Otherwise his eyeballs will be floating all day!)
Good luck - wish we were up for the 500$ challenge. But Chewie, John, and I have to stay put here!
