Wow I don't know if I am more upset or angry! First of all thank you for taking care of little Belle. I just don't understand how the owner could leave her knowing she wasn't feeling well. To me, leaving a sick dog is like leaving your child when sick. They are completely helpless and need us to care for them. I feel that people that cant take the time to care for their animals, don't deserve to own animals. I can understand that she may have been under a lot of stress with getting a divorce but still she should have made sure little Belle was ok before she left or at least tell her husband that Belle needs to see a vet. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if she received treatment early on. Anyways, you are a wonderful person for making sure Belle received treatment and I am happy to hear that she is doing fine.
