Hot Rod is a year and he seems to have really settled down with me combing/brusing him. He even tolerates me when I put his hair up in a ponytail. Just today, Maggie, who is 15 1/2 weeks old didn't squirm as much when I put her ponytail in. All I can offer is to just keep doing it and eventually he will come to realize that you are not going to give up. Maggie has seemed to settle down just a tad with grooming. I make sure to do it everyday. Some days I just run a brush through for 1 min, others a full fledged brushout--just make sure to do something everyday. Good luck.
