It can work as long as the larger one hasn't shown any aggression and they are getting along .....I would never leave them unattended but the yourkie needs to get a bit older and bigger. If the golden ret. would accidentally step on the yorkie or lay on him it could be very bad....I had a lab and she seemed to sense how small they where so she would adjust her strength when she played with them so it was gentler....it took a while....this is my yorkies, Jack and Jake playing with the lab lucky....
