Oh you made the right choice...believe me! I have a 1 1/2 year old Golden and a 13 1/2 week old Yorkie. My first week I had the same thoughts. It does take a lot of extra attention, but they are already buddies. My Golden is SO good with him. They actually play tug o war! You will be amazed at how gentle, kind, and soft mouthed your Golden will be around your little one. I am constantly watching them and they are never left alone, but they play so well. I made sure to give positive reinforcement during gentle play with "Good Gentle, Kayden'. Now if he is getting excited I say 'Gentle' and he will calm down. Good luck! |
