| Jealousy becoming a HUGE problem... Hey Everyone,
I am having a problem with my girl.
JEALOUSY to the 10th power.
She will NOT tolerate me interacting with my bird whom I love very much. This started out of the blue - from no where recently.
She barks and gets very worked up. Jumping and acting like she has no raising at all! I need to know how to handle this? I have been doing the 'ignore her and she'll stop' thing. Am I on the right track?
She is also demonstrating this recently with people. If my husband and I are loving - she has to be a part of it or all hells going to break loose. Basically - we have ruined her. She is so spoiled.
We loved her too much? Too often? She is never alone. She doesnt even have to walk for herself. It really is pretty insane as I sit here and think about it.
So - this is stage one of showing the signs of being a 'bad girl'. INSISTING EVERYTHING HAVE TO DO WITH HER. Is this something I created?
Or is this a breed quality?
What can I do to help her in not being so needy with attention. She gets TOO MUCH if anything. Not too little - thus we are here. She isnt a baby so where did this 'new attitude' come from? I would equate her age and actions to that of a teenager... wanting to be loved and held but just doesnt know when or how much.
I havent lost my place as pack leader at least. I can make those ears go back in a SECOND! (her ears go back and she looks all guilty when caught doing something - too cute)
We really dont mind her being so pushy HOWEVER I want her to be a good girl. This is my first doggie ever (not counting rescues) - much less Yorkie so I just want to see if we are on track - meaning they are all a bit spoiled and pushy for attention - regardless of how much they already receive? |
