Congrats!!!
Im planning on quitting again on our closing day for me and my husbands first house were buying! Thats in about 2 weeks. I quit once before for 6 months, but started again after some traumatic things in my life a few months ago. But Im ready to quit again. I figure the first day in our new house will be like a new beginning for me. Its somewhere Ive never smoked, so I wont associate it with smoking. Plus, I will be busy painting, so I dont want to be out of breath.
My husband is very supportive of this, and doesnt smoke. We agreed, as an incentive, that after my first 30 days of quitting, we can get that new whirlpool tub Ive always wanted!!!
On the other hand, I also have an unspoken incentive. Cigarettes are taking the life of my favorite aunt. She has terminal lung cancer with 4 tumors in her brain. She maybe has a month or so to live. Its hard to see her suffer like this, and I dont want that to be me in 20 years. She is only 49.
Besides the usual reasons, what kept you going when things got hard and you were tempted? I dont want to be controlled by cigarettes anymore.
